TWO WEEKS IN THE ORTHODOX MONASTERY FOR NUNS IN MINSK, BELARUS
TOMORROW, WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 5TH, I AM GOING TO STAY AS GUEST OF THE ORTHODOX MONASTERY OF NUNS, ST ELIZABETH'S CONVENT, IN BELARUS. I CANNOT EXAGGERATE THE ADMIRATION WE AT BELMONT HAVE FOR THESE NUNS, AND I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO MY STAY ENORMOUSLY. I DO NOT YET KNOW WHAT ACCESS I SHALL HAVE TO A COMPUTER; SO, POSTS ON THIS BLOG MAY BE IRREGULAR. HOWEVER, I HOPE TO COLLECT USEFUL INSIGHTS AND MATERIAL. GOD BLESS YOU AND GOD BLESS THE NUNS TOO!

If this were Russia and these nuns were Catholic, we would be accused of poaching. But this has nothing to do with "canonical territory". It is about a number of needy orphans being introduced to the Love of God. God's Providence is greater than all of us. Therefore, "Alleluia!!" One of the evil effects of schism is that, from time to time and in certain situations, we cannot help hurting each other simply by doing God's will. Like the Palestinians and the Israelis, our vocations come into conflict because of a situation that none of us have chosen. May Christ's healing power come to our aid!
.."...we cannot help hurting each other simply by doing God's will."..thats an interesting statement father..perhaps 'offending' would be a better choice of verbs in this particular context, although Christian history is replete with examples of the former..
